The Last Piece Of The Puzzle

Ever got a jigsaw puzzle and found out that a piece of that puzzle didn’t belong there.

After looking through that piece throughout the puzzle, you still concluded that the piece didn’t belong there.

Later, you decided to take one more shot at finding out where the puzzle belongs.  Only you find out that the puzzle company might have made a mistake.

Click to Mix and Solve

You get to the point where it’s time to call them up and say, “Hey, the jigsaw puzzle that you sold me had a puzzle that doesn’t belong here.”  They’ll just send  you another box while you send in the one you think is defective.

Before you give up on that puzzle and call the company, why don’t you finish completing the puzzle and wait.

Well low and behold, after finishing that puzzle, there was one puzzle missing…It was that puzzle they thought didn’t belong there, but that piece completed the puzzle.

And the guy didn’t call the company…You know who that guy was?  More on that later.

The point behind this story is when you pray to God (through Jesus) for the good things you want to happen in your life, you can’t expect it to happen right away.

People pray and expect things to happen right away and it didn’t.  Then they claim otherwise.

Just letting you know that the Lord doesn’t want to give you a partially finished product.  Would you want a partially finished product? In the first place, you want the fully finished product, right?

God will always give you a fully finished product.  The product that you asked for.  You must give Him time to put all the pieces together…

Just like waiting until the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle is placed where it belongs.  That’s what God (through Jesus) wants you to have.

The Last Piece Of The Puzzle to complete the jigsaw puzzle.

Harvest Season

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase and the trees of the field yield their fruit.”
(Leviticus 26:4, AMP)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
God has set up seasons in our lives. It’s easy to get frustrated when our dreams aren’t coming to pass on our timetable, but every season is not harvest season. There are plowing seasons. There are planting seasons. There are watering seasons. Sure, we would love for every season to be a time of increase left and right, good breaks here and there. But without the other seasons, we wouldn’t be prepared. For example, it’s during the plowing seasons that God brings issues to light that we need to deal with. He’s getting us prepared for promotion.

If you’re not making as much progress as you would like, the key is to not lose any ground. Don’t go backwards. Hold your position. Keep a good attitude and do the right thing even when it’s hard. When you do that, you are passing the test, and God promises that your due season of harvest is coming. Be encouraged because your appointed time of increase, favor and promotion is on its way, and He will fulfill every dream and desire He’s placed within your heart. Remember, harvest is coming!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I bless You today. I thank You for preparing me for the blessing and promotion You have in my future. I surrender my heart, mind, will and emotions to You so that I can live as a testimony of Your work in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Long Route Might Be The Only Way To Get It Right

Should you take the shorter route or the longer route to get a task done?

There are times where when I needed something done, it doesn’t get done right away.  I had customers and colleagues ask me to complete a task and they wanted it done right away, like by the day before yesterday.  Those were companies that I have worked in the past.  I’m blessed with working with a company who treats their people right, even got mad at me for trying to get it done as soon as possible, with the risk of forgetting to change one of the settings in a computer.  Instead, they told me to do it right the first time, even though I have to take the long road.

Another matter that I’m facing is trying to get my wife to the states so that we can be together.  Well because I had some down years in terms of income, I had to wait until the following year to submit the affidavit of support.  Although it was one of the challenging times in our marriage, it was the only road to take and I left the matter in God’s hands.  It’s a matter of three months before she gets here.

So if you’re asked to do a task and you think that taking shortcuts is the way to go to get things done, pray about it and consider leaving it in God’s hands (through Jesus).

How To Disable USB Storage Access On Ubuntu Linux

Are you using Ubuntu Linux in a business setting and want to make sure that regular users won’t be able to insert their USB device and access their stuff like put up a virus on their computer or do something outside of work?  If you are using Ubuntu Linux and for some reason you need to disable it, here’s how it’s done.

To disable USB Storage Access on Ubuntu Linux, do the following:

Be sure you have “sudo” access.  If you installed Ubuntu and created the first username, you should know the sudo password as well.

I’m going to assume you have the permissions to edit files, especially in the /etc folder.

Go to Terminal and on the command prompt, type

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Enter the password when you’re asked.  Next, go all the way to the bottom of the file and add a lines below it.  The line with a “#” is for documentation purposes and makes it readable to your audience.

# disable usb storage access
blacklist usb_storage

Save the file and restart the computer.

Go and try inserting a USB storage device.  I doubt if you would have access, but do it anyway.   No one should be able to access the device.

Well that’s how you disable USB Storage Access in Ubuntu Linux.  This method works in at least versions 9.10 and up.

I’m assuming that you’re having trouble disabling USB Storage Access  through the BIOS and you don’t want to physically unplug the device nor lose your ability to use other USB accessories.

Hope this helps.

If you’ve never used Ubuntu before, let me tell you that it’s one of the simplest Linux operating system to use.  In addition, it’s becoming one of the most popular alternatives to Windows and Mac OS combined.

The company I work with is using the desktop version of Ubuntu 10.04 and we have about 50 production workstations.  Saves us the cost of purchasing Windows and their applications.

And it’s free and downloadable.  Just go to http://www.ubuntu.com

How To Disable CDROM Access On Ubuntu Linux

Are you using Ubuntu Linux in a business setting and want to make sure that regular users won’t be able to insert their CD-ROM and do something outside of work?  If you are using Ubuntu Linux and for some reason you need to disable it, here’s how it’s done.

To disable CDROM Access on Ubuntu Linux, do the following:

Be sure you have “sudo” access.  If you installed Ubuntu and created the first username, you should know the sudo password as well.

Go to Terminal and on the command prompt, type

sudo chmod 700 /media

Enter the password when you’re asked.

Go and try inserting a cd rom disc and I doubt if you would have access, but do it anyway.  Then go to the Terminal and type

cd /media

If anything, you should be denied access.  That goes with the normal users of that workstation as well.

Well that’s how you disable CDROM Access in Ubuntu Linux.  This method works in at least versions 9.10 and up.

I’m assuming that you’re having trouble disabling it through the BIOS and you don’t want to physically unplug the device.

What ORAC Is And Why Should You Care

ORAC - Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity

Sounds Greek doesn’t it?  When I first heard about this, it was a new term for me and I didn’t know what it does for us.  When I found out it was a health term and these network marketers are promoting their juice (that’s where I first heard about it), I responded by telling them I needed to research it first, starting with me going to the restroom for private time, just to get away from them.

I keep hearing more about it from two network marketers arguing over comparing their product to another.  Well I still didn’t care for it because it’s another one of those sales pitches and people will try to dupe me into buying their product.  So at that time, I didn’t care for this business about ORAC.  It’s just another one of their sales pitches that could make life better for me and I don’t act without researching it first and if I don’t care for it, I don’t want to even bothered with it.

However, that’s another story…

Then one day, I went to Whole Foods and saw one of these products again.  But this time, I decided to go active on researching what ORAC numbers mean and why should you care.

I’ll make a long story short.  What the ORAC means to you is the capacitance of foods to be able to handle these “radicals” that cause your body to age.  By getting rid of these radicals, you would be able to live a longer life.

So if you have the opportunity to study what ORAC means, I suggest you start with your favorite search engine and search for “wiki ORAC”.

Here are resources that may help:

  • ORAC Points Portable Guide - according to this guide, anything that has blueberries, cranberries, black beans, pinto beans, lentl, or kidney beans are high on the ORAC list (at least 7,000).
  • What is ORAC? - according to this website, Goji berries known to have 25,000, Dark chocolate 13,120, and Milk chocolate 6,740.
  • Any website that comes up when you search for “orac”.

So I suggest you study what ORAC means and before you know it, you’ll get your health back in order.

God, Through Jesus, Comes First Above Everything Else

Ever tried to put God, through Jesus, first even though you have everything you wanted in life?  Think about this for the moment…

Now that you have, understand that this is very fundamental and a good foundation to run your lives on.  There is nothing philosophical, scientific, nor political about it.  If you’re looking to live the life that you’ll be happy with, then I can’t think of anything else.  If you’re bored, lonely, broke, rich, don’t know what to do with your life, conceive God, through Jesus, in your heart and pray for guidance.

Yes and Jesus means it.  Put Him first above everything else and here’s why…

  • He made the blind see. (John 9:8-38)
  • He fed 5,000 people with a few loaves of bread and fish. (John 6:1-14)
  • He predicted Peter’s denial (Matt 26:31-35) and the prediction took place when Peter denies Jesus 3 times (Matt 26:69-75)
  • He calmed the storm (Mark 4:35-41).
  • He walked on water (Mark 6:45-53)
  • He healed a deaf and mute man (Mark 7:31-37)
  • He fed 4,000 people with a few loaves of bread and fish (Mark 8:1-9)

I’ll leave the rest for you to look up for more.  It’s all in the Bible.  Yes, miracles can happen to you as well if you dwell on it and prayed continuously.

It all starts with you.

Never, ever, put anything that you have on earth above God through Jesus.  He, through Jesus, in the first place blessed you with it and in return thank Him, through Jesus, by prayer.  If you’ve been asked to give up God to save your marriage, pray for guidance about what to do.  Tell him that God, through Jesus, blessed us with our marriage and I will put God, through Jesus, first because there are better things coming our way in the horizon.

sidney-catherine-201201

This is a challenge especially for those who are married.  If you don’t go the other way, you’ll be left alone.  It’s difficult to let go of someone you love because you have some differences.  If you’re married to someone who doesn’t go to the same church as you do, you’re up for a challenge.  But don’t worry, the list is long and full of those who put God (through Jesus) first in their life.  Better things are coming your way in the horizon.

In the past, I almost got hooked up with a Catholic woman, but we disagreed with how we should worship God, through Jesus.  Because I chose to worship God, through Jesus (Matthew 28:18 and John 14:6), the result was that person didn’t work out for me and I went elsewhere.  In fact I kept looking until I found one whom I’m blessed with and would continue looking for one who puts God, through Jesus, first.

So change your ways by putting God, through Jesus, first in your life.  If you don’t, you’ll never be fit to feed his sheep.  That’s what Jesus told Peter when he doubted Him while he was walking on water and denied him 3 times before the rooster crows.   Change your ways and put Him first and you’ll be more than qualified to feed several herds of sheep and maybe 5,000 more people like Jesus did.

But it all starts with you making the change.  Always pray to God, through Jesus for guidance.

Resurrection Prayer To Bring You Back To Life For Good

There’s a plan waiting for you as long as you dwell that He through His Spirit will bring you back to permanent life.

“And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.”
(Romans 8:11, AMP)

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for filling me with Your power by the Holy Spirit. I choose to feed my faith by declaring Your Word over my life so that I can partake of the life You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Resurrection Prayer

Dwell that whatever you lost will come back to you in bundles. When Jesus was nailed to the cross, He said that he will rise from the dead and that’s what he did on the scripture below.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“…He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen…”
(Matthew 28:6, NLT)

So believe that this will happen because it happened to Jesus.

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for Your resurrection power at work in my life. Today, I give You my broken dreams, disappointments, failures and setbacks, and I trust that You will breathe Your life into me. I trust that You have a good plan for my future, and You are leading me into total victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Income Tax Return For 2012 Is Completed Using Turbo Tax

I used the Turbo Tax Online to do complete my 2012 federal tax return.  Since I live in Nevada, I’m done with it.  Although I have made money on my business, which I had to use a Schedule C, I didn’t need to buy the Home and Business Edition of the Turbo Tax.  However, I know what I’m doing since I have an accounting degree and have done taxes in the past.  I never had someone do my taxes because I knew what I was doing.

Paid a total of $29.99 for the service.

So if you locals who live in Vegas or if anyone needs help with their taxes, shoot me a message on facebook (it’s lesid at facebook dot c0m).

If you have a home business or work a job and need help, you don’t need to spend the $90.00 or so on the home and business edition of Turbo Tax unless you don’t know what you’re doing.  You just need the $29.99 version plus the software for the state (Nevada residents are lucky since they don’t need to file a state income tax return) for those of you who need to file their state return.

Anyways, let me know if you need advise on getting your taxes done.  Just don’t be like some of those knuckleheads who work at Fry’s electronics who believe they can get more money back, like the guy who looks like Einstein at the front checkout.  Remember, you’re filing your income tax return because it’s the law.  I’ll try to get as much money as I can.   Unless you own a business, bought a house or paying off a student loan or have kids, you’re not going to be able to deduct anything else.

Okay, if you’re stressed on getting your tax returns done, give me a holler, cool?

Cheers…
